Those of you who read this blog regularly might know that I’m a web developer by day (and Batman by night… wait, redact! Redact!). Brandon and I have been batting around a few ideas for making this site more informative and useful for fantasy football players, and we’re not necessarily limiting those ideas to the blog format.
The most important thing, of course, is for this website to continue to help its visitors become better-informed, more successful fantasy football players. Beyond that, the evolution of ffgeekblog.com could go in any number of directions. So I’m asking: What’s on your wish list for a fantasy football news/advice website? What haven’t you found on the Web that you wish someone would build? Brandon and I have always been open to suggestions for new types of blog posts, but maybe it’s time that we thought bigger than that. Or maybe not – perhaps the blog format is just perfect as is.
If you have any thoughts, I’d appreciate it if you left a comment on this post.
Oh, and thanks for a great 2008 season y’all. Our readership more than doubled from 2007, which makes running this blog double the fun.

If you guys can get access to stats, I’d like to see some statistical analysis. In Yahoo, I can’t see a guy’s stats for every week at once. I’d love to see a standard deviation to see how consistent a player is. Of course, if the user could customize the scoring system, that would be even better.
That’s pretty ambitious though…

I’ve really enjoyed the improvements you made to your site this year.
There are three things I really appreciate about your site:
1. Waiver Wire
2. Ask the Geeks (and your faithful responses to comments)
3. Sell High, Buy Low
Hits and Misses and well as Desperation are moderately helpful.
Top 25 doesn’t provide much value to me.
There is one addition that I think would be extraordinarily helpful.
A table, updated weekly, that provides week-by-week analysis of each team’s expected overall passing, running, and defensive performance. Effectively, a forward-looking strength of schedule indicator. Perhaps this could take the form of a color-coded table.
I have two problems in fantasy football. Making the playoffs is rarely one of them. The first is determining which players I should play on a weekly basis. The second is determining which players are going to by fantasy playoff busts. Through the ever-changing football season, I want to have a place to look to determine which players have favorable matchups in the weeks ahead.
This season, it would have been nice to be reminded time and time again to not trade for the Steelers, who had awful fantasy playoff matchups. Of course, I finished the season with Big Ben and Willie Parker on my bench. It would have been nice to unload them–for anything.
