…and the big question is, do the 1976 Tampa Bay Buccaneers celebrate? Or do they sink further into depression as the only winless team in NFL history? In other news, the Patriots won again (although not in the blow-out fashion that all the analysts expected) to move to 14-0. Only two more wins to reach that undefeated mark (fingers crossed)!
In fantasy world though, the weekend was actually pretty slow in terms of stats. Consider this…in one of my league’s scoring formats, some of the players that made the top 10 list in fantasy points for their position include Cleo Lemon, Shaun Hill, Greg Camarillo, Roydell Williams, Aaron Stecker and Darren Sproles! Besides Stecker and maybe Williams, I challenge anyone to admit to starting any of those players at any point in the season. On the other hand, Tom Brady, Tony Romo, Antonio Gates and Terrel Owens had very poor games, which probably didn’t help anyone’s playoff hopes (unless they were playing against them). Anyways, let’s get to the top fantasy scores of the week…
Quarterbacks
Drew Brees (NO): 315 passing yards, 2 TD
A little sad when this is the top quarterback performance of the week!
Ben Roethlisberger (PIT): 146 passing yards, 15 rushing yards, 3 TD
…but the Steelers lost to Jacksonville anyways.
David Garrard (JAX): 197 passing yards, 8 rushing yards, 3 TD, 1 INT
Big game for Garrard, although he did thrown his second INT of the year!
Running Backs
Darren Sproles (SD): 122 rushing yards, 1 reception, 13 receiving yards, 2 TD
Yahoo’s projected ranking for Sproles: 1874. Actual ranking this week: 1. ‘Nuff said.
LaDainian Tomlinson (SD): 116 rushing yards, 2 receptions, 7 receiving yards, 2 TD
If he had played the whole game, his stats might have been unworldly in this one
Aaron Stecker (NO): 95 rushing yards, 6 receptions, 46 receiving yards, 2 TD, 1 Fumble Lost
Maybe Stecker should have been in the New Orleans backfield earlier in the year…
Steven Jackson (STL): 143 rushing yards, 4 receptions, 27 receiving yards, 1 TD
Should break the 1000 yard mark this year…even with missing 4 weeks to injury
Wide Receivers
Marques Colston (NO): 8 receptions, 114 receiving yards, 1 TD
Not all that exciting stats from the top receiver of the week
Roydell Williams (TEN): 4 receptions, 94 receiving yards, 2 TD
Big game for Williams and the Titans passing game, which has been unimpressive so far
Greg Camarillo (MIA): 3 receptions, 109 receiving yards, 1 TD
Will we see Camarillo jerseys for sale soon as he became the hero to break the team out of their winless streak?
Brandon Marshall (DEN): 11 receptions, 107 receiving yards
Marshall got all these stats in the first half! I have to imagine that he’s a top 10 receiver next season…
Tight Ends
Tony Scheffler (DEN): 7 receptions, 100 receiving yards, 1 TD
Looks like Cutler is forming some nice chemistry with Scheffler…he’s a sleeper pick for next year already at the position
Jason Witten (DAL): 8 receptions, 113 receiving yards
Even with Romo’s bad day, Witten still found a way to get his stats
Kicker and Defense
Mason Crosby (GB): 4 field goals, 3 PAT
19 fantasy points
Tampa Bay DEF: 3 Points Allowed, 1 Sack, 2 INT, 2 Fumbles Recovered, 1 TD
22 fantasy points

Ugh, just a horrible week for fantasy. Too bad it had to come in week 15. How many people got burned by the likes of Tom Brady, Tony Romo, Joseph Addai and many others? I’m guessing quite a few. But hey, that’s fantasy. I’ve got to hope and pray that AP either goes off or doesn’t do anything since I have him in one league and am going up against him in another. Yikes. Anyhow, keep up the good work, guys!

This week was brutal. I lucked out having Crosby and Scheffler in one league, but in my other, Stecker and Colston put me down.
I can only hope the championship game next week will be more stat-worthy for me. I would like to take it all home.
