In case you missed these, I just wanted to give you some updates on the following players…
Travis Henry (RB-DEN): Henry has won his appeal and no longer faces a one year suspension from the league. Apparently his passing of a lie detector test and a hair sample test were enough to convince the league that they screwed up on their own drug test (which seems a little odd, but I guess could happen). This is good news for fantasy managers with Henry on their rosters, as he should produce fairly well as a RB2 or flex player through out the fantasy playoffs with Denver still in the hunt for a playoff spot.
Roy Williams (WR-DET): Williams is expected to miss the rest of the season with a sprained knee. Owners looking to replace him in their lineup should look no further than the rest of the Detroit receiving corps, as Calvin Johnson and Mike Furrey move into the WR1 and WR2 spots on the team respectively, while Shaun McDonald will move in as the slot receiver. With Kitna completing around 23 passes a game, expect all three of those receivers to see plenty of balls going their way in the next few weeks, as the Lions fight for their lives to earn a playoff spot.
Jerious Norwood (RB-ATL): It appears that Atlanta coach Bobby Petrino is ready to begin making the transition from Warrick Dunn to Norwood as the feature back in the Falcons offense. His carries have increased the past three weeks, while Dunn’s have dropped over the past two weeks. On the season, Norwood (6.4 ypc) is averaging exactly double Dunn’s yards per carry (3.2), so Petrino would be insane not to begin testing Norwood’s capability as a feature back for next season with this year already in the dumper.
Miguel Cabrera (3B-DET) / Dontrelle Willis (P-DET): Just felt like throwing a little baseball update in here for fans of the sport. In case you missed this one, which you probably haven’t if you visit any sports websites or watch ESPN, third basemen Miguel Cabrera and pitcher Dontrelle Willis, both with All-Star experience, are headed to the Detroit Tigers in return for six young players and prospects, including pitcher Andrew Miller. I would say that this trade immediately makes Detroit a contender to win the American League next year, with the only other serious player at this point being my boys, the Boston Red Sox (especially if they land Johan Santana!) Yankee fans can begin preparation for another second place finish this year…

Does Chatman have any value for the rest of the season? With Buf, Bal, and NE…all strong defenses. Should I look to pick-up Furrey or Norwood? Also, what about Javon Walker and Chris Henry? Substantial value? (Esp when I already hold C. Johnson?)

JT,
Totally depends on his ankle. If he’s healthy, then he’s just an OK injury fill-in or flex-spot player. If he misses practice today, stay away.
