Here’s a quick list of teams that are playing some of the lesser offenses in the league this week and who could be available in your league in case you were looking for a plug-in (with the percent owned in parenthesis):
- Philadelphia (99%) vs Washington
- Cincinnati (94%) vs Cleveland
- Green Bay (93%) @ Detroit
- Dallas (89%) vs Oakland
- San Diego (78%) vs Kansas City
- Miami (60%) @ Buffalo
- Atlanta (39%) vs Tampa Bay
- Seattle (26%) @ St. Louis

I gotta go with Baltimore at Pittsburgh too. Pittsburgh has given up the most points in the league per game to opposing defenses by miles. The order of best teams to start a defense against goes like this:
1. PIT (far and away the most productive team to play a defense against with teams playing against them averaging OVER DOUBLE their season average in defensive FP production)
2. NYJ
3. WAS
4. DEN
5. CLE/BUF (tie)
And the worst teams to date to start a defense against are:
1. TEN
2. SD
3. IND
4. CIN
5. BAL
Interesting to note that team defenses are actually scoring below their season average against KC and OAK who most have pegged as a great teams to play a defense against. The season stats to date show otherwise. So definitely lower your expectations for Dallas and SD defenses this week, especially Dallas since they couldn’t force a turnover if it was given to them wrapped as a Christmas gift (at 12TOs forced this year they are tied for dead last with WAS)
On the other hand, it wouldn’t be wrong to expect good/above average performances out of the defenses of BAL, CAR, and NYG this week as they face the teams giving up the top 5 most fantasy points to opposing defenses (1st, 2nd, and 4th most respectively).

This is one limitation of the P2 theme I based our design on. The P2 theme is what enables us to have all these “live” front-page comments and other features that go above and beyond a normal blog, but it also interferes with a number of WordPress plugins that would normally let us do things like let users edit their own comments.
There’s good news, though – looks like WordPress just released a new version of P2 which fixes a lot of the issues with this one. I’ll probably have to wait until the offseason to upgrade, though, since I so heavily customized this one and will need to do it all over again after the upgrade. I wouldn’t want to make major modifications during the season, since this isn’t really the time to be exposing users to bugs and any other problems that might emerge.

No rush, I’m so used to sounding like a babbling idiot because I don’t proofread my posts that it really doesn’t make too much difference.

BTW, you guys are FF only right? I’m just curious because I need to figure out what to do in the offseason still and I honestly decided I couldn’t last through another entire fantasy golf season if I tried. I guess fantasy Adirondack is an option again…

Yeah, at this point we’re just FF, and I doubt that’ll change much… I can’t speak for Brandon but I know my sports knowledge is really NFL-heavy. I don’t even really like watching baseball or basketball to be honest, so I wouldn’t really be a great source of fantasy insight for either sport.

Right now I’m leaning towards most of the same guys Sal mentions: Miles Austin, Steve Smith, Maurice Jones-Drew, Jason Snelling, and LeSean McCoy. However, I’m liking Jermichael Finley against the Lions, who have given up a lot of touchdowns to tight ends this year.

Thanks to http://www.ffgeekblog.com, I have clinched a playoff spot in my yahoo league!!! Alas, since Megatron is probably out this week and I got Ronnie Brown-outted last week, I’m still in dire need of expert opinions! I need 2RBs, 2WRs, 1Flex:
- Andre Johnson, Nate Burleson, Donnie Avery, Brandon Gibson
- Chris Johnson, Jamaal Charles, Ahmad Bradshaw, Mike Bell, Bernard Scott, Shonn Greene
Also, is old-man Warner okay or should I steal Leinart from the waiver pool?

At receiver, go with Andre Johnson (obviously) and Nate Burleson. At running back and flex, go with Chris Johnson (obviously) and Bernard Scott (as long as he gets the start.) At the flex spot, I’d take the gamble on Jamaal Charles.
As for Kurt Warner, they’re awaiting the results of some neurological tests before making a decision, so you should do the same. Who is your backup QB? He’s gotta be better than Leinart. Otherwise though, feel free to grab him at the expense of Shonn Greene just in case.

Hey guys – some early advice if you can, got to travel this week (Non-ppr).
Need 2 each from:
- Welker, Ochocinco, Sims-Walker, Smith-NYG, Austin
- SJax, Forsett, Wells, Charles, Cartwright
D/ST: Hanging on to CIN for now, BAL, GB, DAL, ATL, SEA available, CIN should be ok vs CLE, but after the Oak game & CLeveland lighting them up earlier this year, now I’m not so sure.
And, the eternal TE debate: your advice on Shiancoe this SUnday was perfect, thanks!. Going forward, I’m tempted to pick up Boss (or possibly Finley), but right now Witten looks like a better drop than VS. If you happen to see the article on Lester’s Legend’s about productivity from the 3 “top” TEs, Witten’s trends compared to the other 2 (I think it was Gonzo & Gates) were disturbing, particularly the one about him being used for blocking in 46 pass plays vs under 10 for the other 2 guys – if Dallas’ O-line needs that much help, he may not be counted on for receiving much going forward. Any thoughts?

Hey TJ, as usual, your receiver question is tough because you have so many good ones. This week though, I’d go with Wes Welker and Mike Sims-Walker. At running back, Steven Jackson and Justin Forsett (if he gets the start again…otherwise Rock Cartwright.) At defense, I like Green Bay against the Lions on Thanksgiving, especially with Matt Stafford and Calvin Johnson likely sitting the game out. Finally, for your tight end, it’s going to be tough to make a call/guess each week on who will do the best. Shiancoe is a solid option because Favre loves him in the redzone. I like Jermichael Finley this week against the Lions, especially after hearing news that the team has been (and will continue) lining him up in the slot as well to catch more passes. At this point in the season, Witten has become a five catch/50 yard guy with very little red zone targets. I doubt Boss will have any more two touchdown games this year and with all the options in the Giants passing game, he could be a bit inconsistent. Does this help at all?

Unfortunately, due to holiday travel & distractions, I was about 60 seconds too late to pick up Finley for the game, so I hope Shiancoe comes through for me again. Looks like Forsett will not be the starter this week, but Jones isn’t 100%….. still move to Cartwright, you think, or even Charles?
MSW is suddenly “questionable” for Sunday….what’s your take?

Don’t worry about Sims-Walker, he’ll play. As for the running back, Charles has a really good match-up and is worth a start if Julius Jones ends up playing. Good luck dude!

Maybe it’s because I’m a Patriots fan, but I’d say go for Brady. As a bonus, the Pats could have more to play for down the stretch, while the Colts could clinch pretty early and start resting guys during your fantasy playoffs.

I do like the upside of Jermichael Finley this week, but Gates match-up is too good to pass on. As for your receivers, they’re all playing top 3 worst defenses, but I’d go with Fitzgerald and Jennings, who I think have the most potential.
