Proceed With Caution - Weak Plays for Week 5
These are the guys you might normally start, but may want to reconsider this week for one reason or another. This week, let me start out by saying this: I seriously almost decided to add Steve Smith to the list this week, simply because with David Carr throwing the ball, he's just plain screwed. Carr sucks - SUCKS - and so will Smith, DeShaun Foster, and every other part of that offense as long as Carr's running the show.
But I know, I know: You can't bench Smith. But I'm willing to bet that, come Monday, you'll be wishing you had.
With that out of the way...
Derek Anderson, QB, CLE - Sure, he looked good against the Ravens D, but Baltimore's pass rush isn't near as good as New England's right now. You probably aren't in a situation where you have to start Anderson, so I'd strongly suggest you go with the guy you drafted.
Bernard Berrian, WR, CHI - I'm obviously far from sold on Griese's abilities at this point, and Green Bay's pass D is solid. Berrian had a nice game last week, but this matchup sucks for him.
Warrick Dunn, RB, ATL - This isn't the week he breaks out. Tennesee's rush defense is the second-best in the league, and you saw what they did to another aging RB recently - poor ol' Deuce.
Marshawn Lynch, RB, BUF - Buffalo's D is going to be absolutely decimated by Dallas, so Lynch isn't going to get a ton of carries against a D that's better against the run than the pass anyway. I also suspect that Buffalo will run plenty of pass plays in the inevitable garbage time in order to get a good look at Edwards as a possible permanent Losman replacement.
Chad Pennington, QB, NYJ - Before last week, I would have told you to go ahead and start any QB against the then-disappointing Giants defense. After their 12-sack performance last Sunday, though, I'm pretty sure you don't want to put your trust in Fragile Chad and the Noodle Arm of Doom this week.

How excited was I to have Steve Smith in 4 of my 5 leagues? Well about as excited as I am now scared, as I feel exactly the same as your opening paragraph. The guy is a must start, but with Carr throwing (who I also have now that Delhomme has gone down in my favorite league) and the look of hatred he gave when sreaming into the coaches phone in week 4, even Steve Smith may need to get benched...
