Not a bad first day on the job
Today a number of heavily hyped rookies made the first start of their career...and in the case of Calvin Johnson, Marshawn Lynch, and Adrian Peterson, it was a pretty good debut.
Calvin Johnson (WR-DET): 4 receptions for 70 yards and a touchdown
Marshawn Lynch (RB-BUF): 19 rushes for 90 yards (4.7 yards/carry) and a touchdown; two receptions for 9 yards
Adrian Peterson (RB-MIN): 19 rushes for 103 yards (5.4 yards/carry); 1 reception for 60 yards and a touchdown
It was assumed that these players would make an impact this season, but I'm not sure this production was expected. Feel confident starting any of these three players in upcoming weeks.
Of course with the good comes the bad. A few rookie's didn't quite produce the way their fantasy managers might have wished, including Anthony Gonzalez (0 receptions), Brandon Jackson (40 rushing yards, averaged only2.7 yards/carry), and Craig Davis (2 catches for 15 yards, plus a fumble). Keep a watch on these guys though...they'll be looking to redeem themselves next week.
