Do not go to AOL for fantasy football advice

AOL loses all credibility when they post this joke of a mock draft on the front page of their fantasy football site, as if there's something we can all learn from it. A few highlights from the draft:

Frank Gore with the #2 overall pick: You have got to be kidding me. Gore's a great player, but he's a huge injury risk, and even at his best it's hard to see him having a bigger season than Steven Jackson. Larry Johnson should also always go before Gore.

Marc Bulger with the #8 overall pick: This is a team-crippling pick. I didn't even comment on Peyton going at #6 because this pick made that look damn near sensible. Bulger belongs in the 3rd round at the very earliest, and that would be a reach.

Shaun Alexander falling to the #9 pick: Whoever got him is the luckiest fantasy player on Earth, not just because of this pick, but because if he has any idea what he's doing, he gets to spend the rest of the season absolutely dominating the pack of morons in his league.

Tom Brady with the #14 overall pick: It's no Bulger-at-number-eight, but it's still stupid. Have these guys ever played a full season of fantasy football before?

Ravens DEF in the 4th: After the rest of rounds 2 and 3 went by without any mind-boggling mistakes, I thought the draft might return to normalcy. This pick ended any chance of that.

Tony Gonzalez in the 5th: Way, way too early to get a non-Gates TE. Gonzo would've been there in the 7th or possibly later. At least, in a normal league he would.

Steelers DEF in the 6th: This one is pretty much beyond comprehension. This D would've been there in the 10th.

It continues, but I'm done. There's no point beyond the moral: AOL sucks at fantasy football.

why am I not surprised that a girl picked Gore because he went to the same school as she did, or at least that she's a fan of. WTF. You guys should comment on people who pick up players from their fav. teams or fav. colleges, its universally stupid, in my opinion. As a long time Ravens fan, I shoot to pick up their Defense, only because its #1, but other than that they don't have any players I look to consistently pick up.

Nothing makes more sick, or more happy if I'm against them in a league, than the kid who's wearing that cut-off black and silver shirt who picks up Raider after Raider in the fantasy draft!

What about the guy that drafts players because they share the same name as him? Hah...I feel that I draft my boy at a fair value though. If I took him in the first round, that'd be another story.
