Ask the Geeks: Week 7
Matt's take: Aside from Minnesota, there's no team in the NFL that should worry you more than New England when your RB is matched up against them. Miami QB Cleo Lemon is going to have a rough day, and the Pats should be able to stack the box to stop the #1 RB in fantasy football. It doesn't help that the New England defense is better than it's ever been under Belichick, so Miami will likely be playing from behind most of the day.
Jordan survived his matchup with the Chargers despite his aching back, and is seemingly healthy heading into a juicy matchup with Kansas City. He should see plenty of carries thanks in part to Culpepper's shaky play.
Still, it stinks to bench the #1 RB in the league. It's a tough call, but Jordan's the stronger start this week.
Brandon's take: Although Matt makes a good point here, because Ronnie Brown has been so involved with the passing game this season, I still see him able to pull off some semi-decent fantasy stats this week. Just don't expect what you've been getting from him the past 3 weeks or so. In terms of LaMont Jordan, the last thing I read was how Domanic Rhodes was complaining that he wanted to get more carries, so I wouldn't be surprised if the Raiders spread out their carries between the two, taking away from Jordan's fantasy stats. My vote: Ronnie Brown.
Matt's take: Dan, I can only assume you're thinking Warner's out for the season or something if you're willing to go so low for Fitz. Well, Warner's likely going to be fine, and even if he isn't, Rattay should still be able to get him the ball (even if he throws a few picks along the way). I wouldn't trade Fitz for Romo straight up right now, let alone with Eli thrown in. Don't let QB-receiver hookups influence your decisions - they might be fun, but they don't add any value to your team whatsoever. The Pats fan with Brady and Moss on his team is clearly messing with your head.
Brandon's take: I agree, you can't make this trade. Eli has been solid this year and will continue to be so on a Giants offense that seems to be pretty good this year. Romo has reached his peak already and that is why his owner is trying to make the trade. Keep Eli, Fitz and Witten and laugh when Romo starts returning to mediocrity.
Brandon's take: Evan, are you in a 4 team league? That is an insane running back lineup you have there. Anyways, if you want to sit one of them, I'd go with Ronnie Brown. Although I recommended him in another post here, he wasn't being considered along with the likes of Peterson, LJ and Westbrook. LJ would be the only one to consider sitting other than Brown, but I see him having a solid game against Oakland.
Matt's take: Trade one of them. You don't need all four. Aim for Peyton.
