Here are some more questions for week four…and again the theme seems to be surviving a brutal bye week (Detroit, Indianapolis, Miami, New England, New York Giants, and Seattle.)
Jeanne asks: I have a lot of byes this week and quickly need to pick-up….who do you suggest?
Brandon’s take: Hey Jeanne, welcome to the club (of people struggling with bye’s this week.) In terms of a team defense, I think you have to take the team that plays against the St. Louis Rams if they’re available…and just you’re luck, the Buffalo Bills are there for the taking. For a receiver pickup, I’m liking Stuckey these days, as he’s getting plenty of looks from Brett Favre (having a touchdown in each game so far this season doesn’t hurt either!) Bruce had a big week two, plus he had a touchdown last week, but the offense is too inconsistent and there’s no telling how he will do from week to week, even if it is against a week Saints defense. Finally, go with Rober Royal as your tight end, as he’s going against a Rams defense that is just as bad as their offense.
Bolt asks: I have to pick 2 RBs for week 4 from Graham, Portis, and Jones-Drew. Who would you pick?
Brandon’s take: Bolt, this is a nice problem to have on your hands, but that doesn’t make it any easier to make a decision. Graham is going against the weakest opponent in terms of running backs, as the Packers are giving up 5.7 yards per carry at this point in the season. However, MJD’s game last week got me excited that the Jags running game might be back on track, while Portis is someone you know will always get the carries and is usually good for a score or two (even though he’s going against a tough Dallas defense.) I’d go with Clinton Portis and Maurice Jones-Drew and hope that the Packers run defense can limit Graham on your bench so you’re not kicking yourself Sunday night.

Yeah this is a tough one this week. I will probably end up with what you say too. But it is hard with Portis going up Dallas D.

Who should I start J. Delhomme or D. Anderson? I’m a long shot to win this week…and I was thinking take a chance on Anderson, he’s playing for his position against a very bad Defense…what do you think?

@chris: Although he’s been struggling, I have a feeling Derek Anderson will have a solid game this week. Take the risk on him.

@Bolt: In case you read this before the start of the games, I’m thinking you should go with Graham and MJD over Portis…it looks like Dallas is going to be focused on stopping the run.
