Ask the Geeks: Week 11 (Part 2)
Here are my RBs: LT, Barber III, Jacobs, Rudi Johnson, Watson
Here are my WRs: Boldin, Harrison, Chris Henry, DJ Hackett, Mark Clayton
We start 2 RBs, 2 WRs and 1 flex (WR/RB). I also own Kellen Winslow. I’ve been agonizing over this trade to figure out if its worth doing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Brandon's take: A Dave (name?), thanks for submitting the question as an official Ask the Geeks query...it makes it a lot easier for us to offer advice when the questions come straight to our inboxes. Anyways, if you're confident that LT or Barber III won't suffer any injuries in your league's playoffs...then I guess you could go for broke and accept the trade. However, I think being able to start LT, Barber, and Jacobs (2 RB + flex) is to your advantage, so I would recommend NOT doing the trade. Starting two of Boldin, Henry or Hackett should be pretty decent for you.
marc bulger (@ SF) or
derek anderson (@ BAL).
additionally, pick two WR (no PPR):
braylon edwards (@ BAL)
donald driver (CAR)
plaxico burress (@ DET)
mark clayton (CLE)
chris henry (ARI)
(leaning towards edwards and plaxico, but plaxico has made both stud and dud lists this week.)
Brandon's take: This is a tough one in terms of your quarterbacks. I'd almost say that both Bulger and Anderson are set up to have pretty equally solid games. I have a hunch though that the Rams will pull off their second win of the year this weekend and Bulger should be the man to lead them there...so go with him (if you can risk it...Anderson is the safer play though). As for your receivers, you have to go with Braylon Edwards for one receiver. As for the second, I'd go with Burress if he's expected to play (he is at this point), but go with Chris Henry if Burress doesn't play.
Brandon's take: Hello Pop off, hopefully your question wasn't so embarassing that it forced you to use an alias, let's see though. In terms of receivers, I'll agree with you on benching Plaxico. Although I expect him to have a good game, the other three guys are pretty much "must" starts when they play. By the way, if you're trying to get the edge, you might consider trading one of those receivers for a top tier RB or something...just a thought. As for your second running back, Ryan Grant has been playing the best of the three to warrant a start.
Brandon's take: Hmm...although he's my boy, Marshall makes for a poor play against the Titans. I'd actually go with Jones, who should be pumped up to redeem himself after last weeks pathetic performance (4 rush, -4 yards, 1 TD).
Brandon's take: Hasselbeck has been consistent as you've said, and he's playing a middle of the road Chicago pass defense this weekend...so for the safer play you probably want to go with him. However, if you're feeling a little risky, Matt Shaub makes the sexier play, as the addition of Andre Johnson to the lineup makes this passing offense a lot more lethal. If I had both on my team, I'd probably wimp out and start Hasselbeck though...but it's up to you.
Brandon's take: I think this one is a pretty easy decision for you this week, actually. Rudi Johnson has been terrible lately, so cross him off the list first. The Priest is going against Indy...so I expect the Chiefs to abandon the run pretty early, making him a fairly weak play. This leaves you with Chatman, Jackson and Jones to fill your three spots.

I have Owens and Romo so I need to know when you think (if at all) the Cowboys may start to sit some of their starters or start running the ball?
