Some things we've learned today
Ronnie Brown has the talent to be a #1 fantasy RB. Now it's just a matter of whether he can maintain the motivation to perform to his potential all season on a bad team.

This is why you don't trade guys on the basis of two bad games. It looks like Cam Cameron's Jesse Chatman bluff is paying off; Brown's finally running like a man with a job to lose.
I'm stunned by how personable and interesting Keyshawn Johnson has suddenly become on Sunday NFL Countdown. Where did that come from? He went from terrible and nervous every time I've seen him to completely confident on-camera. Weird.
Jake Delhomme: The Charlotte Observer sounds pretty sure that he won't start.
In case you were too lazy to check our Injury Report (or any site's report for that matter), you need to be aware the Javon Walker and Hines Ward are both OUT this week. Both are suffering from knee injuries and will be unavailable for this week, so look for an immediate replacement. On their respective teams, the players that will benefit the most are WR Brandon Marshall (woot! woot!), WR Brandon Stokely (Denver) and WR Santonio Holmes, TE Heath Miller and WR Nate Washington (PIT). Let's see how my boy B. Marshall performs as the number one receiver in the offense...maybe he won't give it back to Walker! As of now, both Walker and Ward are expected to play next week, but check back to see their status after this weekend.
Matt's take: I don't really see Harrington or Edwards as viable fantasy options right now, so cross them off the list. I'm surprised Favre's still available, and he's the obvious pickup if you can get him; he looks better now than he has in years (though I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop and for him to throw four picks in a half). Pennington's an option against Buffalo in week 4, but most weeks you wouldn't want him in there.
My apologies for not posting my regular columns so far this week; I had jury duty and was actually selected as a juror, which was a ton of fun, except by "ton" I mean "load" and by "fun" I mean "shit." Not guilty on all four counts, if you're wondering, due to a complete lack of any evidence whatsoever. Just a bunch of she-said, she-said between two charming young ladies who seemed to think they were on Judge Judy. Their boyfriends got into a fistfight in the hallway outside the courtroom just as things were getting underway. How it ever got to trial is a question I'll be asking the Rochester DA, should I ever meet him.
After the crazy weekend that just took place in the NFL, you're probably scratching your head and asking a few questions about your line-up come week 4. Like, is Kevin Curtis the real deal? How severe is the injury to my star running back? These are some of the questions I'm sure you're thinking, so to help put some of your fears, questions or concerns to rest, here are the Waiver Wire, Keeper Sleeper and Spot-Start picks for Week 4...
Initial reports do not sound good on Deuce McAllister's knee injury last night. Unofficial reports are saying that it is a torn ACL and that he could be out for the season. If this is the case, it could be devastating to all owners of Saints players, except maybe Reggie Bush owners. Bush will be counted on to shoulder more of the load in the running game, something that he hasn't really proven he can do to this point. The backup to Bush will be Aaron Stecker, so he could possibly get more of the straight ahead running opportunities as the team likes to use Bush as a wideout frequently. Stay tuned for updates on this situation and if you own Deuce, make sure to pick up Stecker as soon as possible. As if the Saints didn't have enough problems...
